outside right now. speaking of that beautiful day diane has been talking about, let's show you that golden orange sunset about to take shape from looking around emeryville off towards san francisco. mostly clear, beautiful skies. that is about to change, though. we're going to see a lot more clouds this time tomorrow. some of that will be due to the sea breeze which will push in low clouds tonight, also a storm system up the coast will drop our way and we'll see a big time drop in temperatures. the system we're watching is approaching the pacific northwest. this is part of the big pattern change that's going to bring in that drop of cold air. this time tomorrow night in to tuesday will be the main event of this weather change. that's going to bring us some rain. that's not so unusual this time of year or seeing some breezy conditions, 15 to 30 miles per hour. but here's some of the other headliners, as we see that cold air spill in, snow will be possible 2,000 to 3,000 feet. only near 50. you have chilly air moving into the bay area. that will be a possibility. higher peaks like mount diab

the story from mountain view. hello, bob. >> reporter: good evening, diane and terry. the group of scientists and former astronauts working out of this office building in mountain view don't want us to be blindsided by a big meteor like we were yesterday when a ten-ton rock from outer space entered the earth's atmosphere over siberia and blowing out windows and hurting more than 1,000 people, that's why the b-612 foundation on the peninsula is trying to give us an extra pair of eyes to the skies. they have been raising money to send into the orbit around the sun a space te le scop to spot the asteroids that we can't see here on earth. nasa has reportedly found most of the ones that could destroy our planet but as far as the ones that are smaller and destroy cities and wipe out regions, as far as those are concerned 99% are a mystery to us, we only now about 1% of them. the foundation believes it's so-called sentinel telescope can discover more asteroids in its first month of service in 2018 than all of our earth-based telescopes have been able to do over the past 30 years. scien

on the woman cyclist who was kill yesterday in front of at&t park. diane sullivan was hit by a cement truck on king street. preliminary reports are that she was riding her bike curbside and became entangled in the truck. both were heading westbound. she was taken to the hospital where she later died. the accident is still under investigation. >>> this just in. san jose firefighters have freed a person trapped near mark hamilton. two dozen firefighters respond to the accident which happened about 2:00 this afternoon. one of the two people in the car was able to get out without help. the other was stuck because the vehicle was in a difficult place to reach. the rescue took crews an hour and a half. >> people throughout the bay area are celebrating the lunar new year today. fireworks and music welcomed the year of the snake in san francisco's chinatown. chinatown was mobbed as shoppers get ready for large traditional meals and celebrations that will last for the next few weeks. new years day is set aside for family. the following days are for family and friends. >>> coming up next at 5:00, the

'm diane dwyer. there's a manhunt happening right now at a ski resort in southern california. s.w.a.t. teams took advantage of a break in the weather to search for one of the most wanted men in america. christopher dorner is a former los angeles police officer and he's suspected of killing three people. kimberly tere joins us from the newsroom with the latest on the search including an update from police that just came into our newsroom. >> reporter: los angeles police say they will reopen the investigation into the firing of then officer christopher dorner, which happened exactly four years ago today. it was ann incident that investigators believe led to the killing of three people. >> it is an injustice collective. he collects injustices and never lets them go. evidently they finally reach the tipping pointing that led to the series of violent acts the last several days. >> reporter: police continue to search the snowy big bear lake resort for 33-year-old christopher dorner. his burned-out pickup truck was found there thursday. >> my understanding is that the car got stuck in
